Yes, folks, I'm still alive. It's been a while, I know, but for my sanity's sake this break was necessary. I'm working on coming back to my on-line existance but I'm not promising much more than a post a week. That's my goal now, one a week.

Something else to note: I'm a recovering TVHolic. So I'm not scouring the net for news of the latest and most interesting (at least to me) TV programme. You'll be just as likely to see posts of my latest knitting project as a new cool program/website.

Over the break I've realized, well I've realized many things, but in relation to my blog, I see that my interests are many and focusing on one thing drives me bonkers. TV focused items will probably still pop up but hopefully less frequently, much less frequently.

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, he's back. "Who?" You ask . Bond, James Bond!
The hits are hard, the chases are increadible, the villains are delicious and the babes are just what you expect them to be! And Bond? Oh Baby he's perfect. I know he's blond and doesn't look as pretty as Brosnan but he's still perfect. As I told my MIL "It's like having Sean Connery back".

Guys ... there's eye candy galore as well as fast paced action and some wild stunts. Ladies ... Daniel does the job :) Even if you don't care for action movies you'll like this one ... 'cause dear Danny is worth every penny of the admission ticket!
BTW I'm not back ... my real life is ... well it just is. Nothing bad, so don't worry but I just can't find the energy/time to dedicate to my on-line existence so to keep my sanity I've decided to back away from the laptop. At least for now. :) Here's hoping you all are doing well!

What's On: nada

I don't know if anybody I know has heard of this, so listen up :) A while ago a couple of young guys started making short vids about watching TV, basically skits making fun of all things good and bad on the tube. I guess a network got interested in what they were doing and is now funding them. The boys now have a website Nobody's Watching. Their most recent ep is up, it's about "LOST" and it hillarious!

What's On: Gilmore Girls

I've collected a bunch of links .. so get ready folks there's a lot of stuff to get through.

1. Torchwood. Basically a spin-off from Dr.Who and we won't be seeing it on this side of the pond for a little while but , hey, we could always hop on a "special" lear jet and visit Britain weekly to catch the eps as they air ;) But if that's not your cup of tea you don't need to fret, the show's doing really well in the UK which pretty much insures that it will be seen on Sci-Fi. But if neither waiting nor "flying" is your thing ... you can read up on what's going on.It's not a terribly spoilerific write-up but at least it's something!

2. Heroes. Lead off with interviews.

And then there's this goodie .... Video of a visit to the set.

3. Stargate. Looks like we're getting movies direct to DVD!

4. BSG. This is too funny : Cylon-o-Lanter and then there's this heeeee!

5. Superman Returns made it to $200 million. I know one little ORB that's increadibly happy about this!

6. Prison Break ... was the idea stolen? It seems that something like this happened it real life:

their story actually sounds really interesting. They were on the run for four years, working various jobs around the country and staying one step ahead of the police.

What's On: news

Oh, my goodness it's been a rough week. And most of the things I'll be posting you've so known about for ages but I'm sure you'll forgive me ... most of you know what it's like to have real life kick you in the behind and then walk all over you in high heal boots for a while. Ok ... whining over ... on to business :

So who knew that David Boreanaz has a blog? Well definately not me ... but the folks in the know did thankfully. These news hounds ferreted out that dear David Duchovny will be directing an ep of Bones.
I've mentioned the Free iTunes Downloads Blog in the past. Now these great guys (maybe gals as well) have created a way to keep track of FiTD through LiveJournal's Friends page. I really like keeping track of this blog ... they're pretty regular in updating and I find some interesting stuff there.
Jericho and Heroes have been picked up for full seasons. This is great news for fans of sci-fi . I really like Jericho ... sadly, however, I can't seem to catch a whole ep due to the whole "real life kicking me in the behind and walking all over me in high heals". But, what I've seen I really like. I know most people disagree with me when I say Heroes isn't blowing me away, don't get me wrong, I like it , I'm just not blown away. I'm sure it'll get better and that's what makes me happy about this full season pick-up. Giving the show time to really build a mythology and allow characters to develop realisticly.

I know a heck of a lot more happened in the world of TV in the past week but honestly I've just not been able to keep up. And if real life stops her sadistic tendancies I just might be able to start updating this thing more regularly soon.

What's On: Heores

Here's something that I know will make a certain Atlanta Orb very happy! Shiri is coming back to TV. As is Jeff Donovan but I don't know if that makes anybody especially happy.

And now for something completely different: BSG to make an appearence on NBC. I can't think of better news for the series. I hope the audience grows 'cause this baby deserves huge numbers! Edited to add: and maybe that's a false rumor. I guess we won't know for sure untill it's time for mid-season :(

And in todays Vartan news : Good ole Michael is going indy. I really hope Mikey's been taking acting lessons 'cause I wish him success but the acting "chops" he's been showing off on Alias haven't been impressive. Don't get me wrong I love Michael Vaughn but Vartan ... not so much.

OT: I've added a couple of modules to the side-bar on this blog ... one is Netflix which shows what's in my que and the other's "DVD Releases" which, as is says, lists the upcoming/recent DVD releases ... What's On: Forbidden Street

I'm very impressed with all the great writing on the tube this season. On Monday Studio 60 rocked and on Tuesday House and Eureka were both awsome!

All these shows have that snappy, smart dialogue that I so love. I've never had the gift for language. Oh I speak well enough but I've never had the talent for the quick rejoinder or the appropriate joke. And seeing all these characters have the smooth self expression that I've lacked all my life is extremely satisfying.

What pleases me most is that these 3 shows are completely different yet the writing is equally strong. Finally, decent writers are in vogue and I hope they all stay happily employed for a good long time!

Not Been Around

So it's pretty obvious that I've not been around. Honestly, I was going to post a few days ago and it was going to be a doozy with loads of profanity and everything. In other words I wanted to rant!

When I started trying to compose it I realized ... there was no value to that post. I could have done it to get things off my chest but hubby obliged by hearing me out and talking me through my frustrations. So I decided to let myself decompress "naturally" and spare the few of you who read this thing all the colorful metaphors that were on the tip of my fingers to type :)

So basically, I'm back. I'll start posting interesting things I find regularly and post interesting links on the side-bar.

What's On: E!

I love "The Mummy" movies and I'd love to see a third but this article worries me. Especially this bit:

the project will be a reimagining of the first two films, so we'll have to see whether Rachel Weisz, John Hannah, Arnold Vosloo or Oded Fehr will be back as well.

Uhhhhmmmmm, it wouldn't be the same without Rachel and John .. it just wouldn't. I mean they could get a different guy to play "The Mummy" (although I doubt it ... I think Arnold could use the work) and Oded's a cutie but I think it could work without him. But Rachel, John and Brendan were perfect and it just wouldn't be what I love about the franchise without that threesome!

Reading this really disturbed me. Because it really sounds like I am expected to say goodbye to the awsomeness that was in the first 2 movies. But at this point nothing is fully confirmed so I'll just keep my fingers and toes crossed to get my way!

What's On: E!

Amazon UnBox is here! iTunes is no longer the only kid on the "TV show download" block. In addition to TV shows Amazon also offers MOVIES which is a big plus in my book!! The main problem, however, is that the stuff you download won't play on the iPod ... well that sucks for those of us who have those little jems :( .

After reading the FAQ ... I'm not impressed ... but it might be just the ticket for the un-iPodded populace.

There's been talk that iTunes will soon offer movies as well .. so I think I'll wait till then ... 'cause I'm not giving up my 'pod!

I've been messing around with the site a little and have added a couple of features. First, there's a GMailThis button at the bottom of each post. Pretty obvious .. if you have a gmail account and want to send someone the post you're reading ... just click on the button, and voila, tis done.

Secondly, I've created a calendar just for my TV obsession. It can be found in the "About Me" section on the side bar .. right under the Icon Source link. Hope you guys find it useful and if there's anything you think deserves to be added don't hesitate to send me a note or just comment here :)

Slice of SciFi reports some additional info about the Remastering of the original series. Personally I'm excited that the modified eps will start so soon ...

The original original series will continue airing on G4 and TV Land for “a year or two,” until remastering/CGI work is completed on all 79 episodes. The enhanced episodes start airing Sept. 16 on over-the-air syndication; check TVGuide.com listings or StarTrek.com for channels/times as that date nears.

September 16th can't come soon enough!

Grey's and Lost

What's On: Bones

A couple of things about Grey's Anatomy and Lost.

Firstly Lost: look for its two-hour season finale on Monday, September 25 at 9:00/8:00c while a yet-to-be-titled clip show will air on Wednesday, September 27 at 9:00/8:00c. The show's third season then kicks off on Wednesday, October 4 at 9:00/8:00c.

Secondly Grey's: an encore of its two-hour season finale on Wednesday, September 20 at 9:00/8:00c while the special "Complications of the Heart" is set for Thursday, September 21 at 8:00/7:00c as a lead-in to its third season launch at 9:00/8:00c. As well as the fact that some of the characters are keeping blogs.

Six Feet Under on Bravo

What's On: nada

Exciting news about Six Feet Under. I've watched the first season and liked the show but when I tried watching the 2nd season I was totally turned off by all the swearing. With 2 kids and a hubby who's not fond of colorful metaphors ... it's hard to find a time when I could watch without causing trouble. So I'm actually glad about this ... they'll cut out some of the more colorful dialogue but I'll still be able to see what happens! I'm very curious about what happens to this wacky clan!
