Like a spike trought my left eye. Fell asleep with it, woke up with it and basically at 2pm on Friday it decided to leave. Only it didn't, not really. It knocked me on my rear so hard. I had to take the kids to the orthodontist at 4pm who's a couple of minutes away from our place but it took all my energy to do this. When we got back ... I couldn't stand. I went to bed and pretty much could not get up until about 6:30. It was awful ... couldn't even lift my head. By 8:30 I had enough energy to get into PJs and hit the sack. Got up this morning still a bit weak . But better, I was even able to do a couple of loads of laundry!

One of these days it'll get through my thick skull that I need to get on migraine drugs. I'm just psychologically against this because of all the ashtma meds I'm on ... I don't want to add another "regular" drug to my regimen. But it's so obvious that I need to. Three days, that's how much time my family and I have sacrificed to this .. and I may still not by 100% tomorrow. And that's just too much time to give up.

So I'm making a promise to myself. Next time I see my doc ... I'm asking for the meds. I'm not willing to give up days of my life anymore ... it's not fair, not to me and not to the fam.

The guys showed up around 2:30am totally wiped but in good spirits. My boy was being all macho but tolerant of my concern. His wrist is broken but it's a clean break so there's hope that it'll be a short period with a cast.

TYM said he wasn't in a lot of pain. I'm not sure if that was true or if that was his machismo talking ... silly child he should learn to take his pampering while he can get it! We still need to get a true cast on him ... he only got a splint at the ER.

I'm told they got lucky there ... one of TYM's hockey friends' Dad was working the ER last night so he was treated by someone he knows and we trust! They didn't have to wait .... were ushered right in and it was still over 4 hours ... I can't imagine when they would have gotten home if they had to wait *shudders at the thought*

So overall things are good .. we're just tired .. thankfully the kid can sleep in, he's got nowhere to be.

External Influence: nada Mood: calmer than last night

If he thinks it's time for the ER ... it's not good.

So now, I'm stuck home waiting and waiting. Here's a VERY nice little program I found and use.

Basically you create shortcuts for whatever you want. You copy the repeated text say Clark kissed Lois and tell the program to make the shorthand CL. Then everytime you type in CL and hit the Enter Key ... you 'puter will type out Clark kissed Lois :)

There's another program on which this one's based that allows you to create keyboard shortcuts to run functions so you can type something and have your browser open and load a particular webpage. I use that one to make HTMLing easier. Instead of typing <*a href="*"><*/a> I type in hre and hit the enter key and the whole thing is typed out for me and if I have the url copied it'll paste it in the appropriate place and leave my cursor where I want it to be! Makes formatting SO easy!

I love my boy! He's at that stage now where he doesn't quite know if he's still a kid or a full blown teenager. And it's just fine by me.

We were sitting at dinner today and he announces that he's going to make a toast. Now this boy pretty much never makes toasts so I and the hubster are intrigued ... what's this kid going to say and is it going to be totally weird?

TYM raises his glass and says something to the effect that the past week of the vacation has been so delirously wonderful that he hopes that next week will be just as much fun. We clink glasses and drink.

I'm so glad he's not a full blown teenager yet .. doesn't hate everything just 'cause we like it .. isn't constantly making snide remarks. Don't get me wrong .. he does all these things. It's just that occasionally his true being shines through and he gives us jems such as that. And it makes my heart sing.

I love my boy :)
